I loved my mother when she was a little girl and
my father when he will have been an old man:
I like things small-
I packed an Elizabeth Peyton painting that sold for 1.4 million at
my art handling job where I’m paid $30/hr

when I was an anonymous artist assistant and made
$18/hr, I bought pretty things at the fruit stand.
let them rot,
in their bowls-
admiration fed better.
